THE RHINE LANDS

FUTURE DISCUSSED.

AGITATION FOR REPUBLIC.

BERLIN, July 27. (Received July 31, at 11.55 p.m.) A meeting at Dusseldorf, over which the Prussian Premier (Herr Higsch) presided, discussed the future of the Rhineland. All classes of society and callings were represented. Herr Higsch, in summing up, admitted that a considerable feeling existed for a republic. An agreement had been reached that the Rhino lands should remain paa-t of Prussia for at least two years, but the agitation would certainly bo renewed then. Hen- Higsch urged the Westphalians to accept a, limited autonomy, giving Imperial interests precedence over tho Rhine lands.— I The Times.
