* Satubdat, Jttlt 26. (Before Mr H. Y. Widdowson, S.M.) 1 Drunkenness.—A first offender was cont victed and discharged. Charles Henry a Portoous and James Purvis wore each fined a 20s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. i David Johnston Gunning was convicted and - ordered to pay £1 8e 6d for medical ex- - penses, in default seven daye' imprison--3 mont. A prohibition orcter was issued , against him. Thomas Christopher Fogai-ty - was fined 10s, or 24 hours' imprisonment 3 tor drunkenness, and 20s, in deiault seveu a days' imprisonment, for a breach of a prohibition order. William Neilson 9 iYlack:e was charged, on remand, with 3 drunkenness, and was also brought up for ? sentence on another conviction. The dej fendant had been released, unknown to the 1 court or police. officials, from Roto Koa, l and had a list of 12 convictions aga.inst l him.—On the first charge ho was fined s 20s, in default .48 hours' imprisonment, a and on the second 40s, or asven days, the - sentences to be cumulative.
