Pno AootuiAUan— By Tolojrapk—Copjntfev MELBOURNE, July 23. A post mortem examination on O'Connor, the soldier who was shot at the Barracks on Sunday, revealed the fact that he was shot by a revolver used by one of the rioters.
FORCE OF SPECIAL CONSTABLES.
RIOTERS FINED.
MELBOURNE, July 23. The Government is enrolling a force of special constables.
Several rioters have been fined
At a meeting at the Trades Hall it was decided to force the Government to recognise their claim for monetary assistance.
MEETING OF RETURNED SOLDIERS.
PLEDGE TO UPHOLD THE LAW.
MELBOURNE, July 23. (Received July 23, at 9.45 p.m.) A mass meeting of returned soldiers, after an address by General Brand regarding the recent riots, unanimously resolved in favour of the maintenance of law and order, and dissociated themselves from the hoodlums and disloyal elements responsible for the trouble.
