I, hereby give notice, that I am prepared to receive applications for Leases of lands, in sections not exceeding Ten (10) acres each, for agricultural purposes, within the following area:— All those lands situated within the Mining Districts of Gabriel's and Waitahuna, being a part of the Tuapeka goldfield, formerly known as Runs No. S(J and 54, and bounded on the North-west by the Tuapeka River,' on the North and North-east by the boundary of Run No. 52, on the East by the west branch of the Tokomairiro River, on the South-east by the boundary of tlie Tokomairiro Hundred, and on the South-west by the boundary of the Tuapeka gold-field. Leases, will be granted for a term not exceeding seven (7) years, in-accordance with the provisions of the Gold-fields Act, 1858-60, and,subject to the^ following Regulations. Vy. H. 1. Every Application for an ogricultural lease must be made (in the ionn of.tiie Schedule hereunto annexed, or to the like effect) through the Warden of the District wherein the land is situate, and must be accompanied by a Deposit of Five pounds (£5) to cover the costs of survey. The balance, if any, of such deposit wfll be returned after the application has been finally dealt with. , i

The Government reserves to itself the right to survey thrpugh any land held under an agricultural lease, such roads as may- be deemed essential for public convenience, and to throw them open'to pubj lie traffic, subject to.the allowance of vai luation for improvements, and' for any standing and crops which may be in or upon such line of road, at the period when possession thereof is taken by the Government. 8. The rent charged shall be at the rate of Five shillings (55.) per acre, payable yearly in advance, and any fractional part of an acre will be considered as an acre, and charged*accordingly. ' ': 9. The Government" reserves to itself the right of entering upon any land so leased as aforesaid, for the purpose of searching for gold, or any other metal or mineral, and of determining any lease when such metals' or minerals shall have been discovered thereon. -I - : : 10.
