LATEST HOME AND FOREIGN NEWS. (reutkr : s telegram, pur press association) London, August 10. Intelligence lias been received that two members—Carter arte] of the Belgian Expedition, now exploring in Africa, have been, murdered by natives, Arrangements have been made for a sculling match on the Thames between Mr. E. Laycock, of Sydney, and Mr. Blackmail for LIOO a-side. A ci'icket match, Australians v. Eighteen of Bradford, at Bradford, was commenced to-day. The Hojne team went in first, and were all disposed of for 66 runs. The Australians then went in for first innings, and were all out for 95 runs. The Home team then went in for their second innings, and were all out for 69 runs, after which Australians went in for. their second innings, and scored 41 runs for the loss of no wickets, thus winning the match by ten wickets.
London, August 10. Consols are at 9S-J-. - Ac]elaic]e wheats ex warehouse, is at 49s Gd. The market is quiet. Best beef tallow is,at 34s 6cl - best mutton, 36s 6d. The tallow market is firm. No. 1 Scotch pig iron, f.o.b. in Clyde, is at 52s 9d. Tije Bank of Australasia pays a, dividend of 5Qs per shave. August 11. News has been received that the steamer Jeddah, bound to Singapore with 1000 pilgrims from Jeddah, foundered during a heavy gale off Cape Guardafui. All on board perished except 21. • Trickett has returned from Scotland, and is now at Putney. He is practising in a boat which lie brought from Australia.
The price of wheat is declining, owing to the finer weather which is now prevailing throughout England. Harvest operations are progressing rapidly, and from present indications it is expected that the English crops will be below the average. Heavy shipments continue to arrjye fvam America.

Innes has been appointed Minister of Justice and Public Instruction, The youth named Ball, who offered Sir Henry Parkes, Premier and the Colonial "Secretary, LSO as a bribe as a consideration for the Premier to secure him an. appointment to the Civil Service, has been brought to trial and discharged on his own recognisances.
