The Post states that when the Loan Bill had been passed the news was cabled to the Agent-General and Crown Agents, and that the Government have received a reply from them to the effect that no difficulty is likely to be experienced in floating the new loan, and that any amount required in anticipation of the loan being placed regularly on the money market will be readily obtained. DUNEDIN. August 13. After a thoroughly successful season here, Messrs. Harding and Grain's " Pinafore" Company will proceed northwards on Monday next. They will appear in Oamp.ru on Tuesday evening, and subsequently in Timaru for four nights. AUCKLAND. August 12. Mr. Tole is said to be contemplating a somewhat similar step. August 13. John B. M'Millan, arrested on the Hero, charged with embezzling Ll3, the property of Memus and Hanna, was r-c----mandecl. The Thames Harbor Board has resolved to issue debentures for L 12,000, and endeavor to get an advance for L6OOO. John Smith is commencing the erection of extensive stabling at Ellerslie for his racing stud.
