Wellington, November IS. The Westport Shipping Co.'s barquentine Alma, from Melbourne on the 10th inst., brings dates to the 9th. George Goodman, watchmaker at Echuca, committed suicide by firing a revolver ball into his ear. - Patrick Connell, was smashed to atoms on the Kyneton railway, his companion, William Hove, narrowly escaping. Two lads named Evans have been drowned at Stawell. The Kellys, the Mansfield bushrangers, are supposed to be lurking in the Rats Castle Ranges, near Maigo Creek. The police and settlers are in hot pursuit. Floods in tho Murray prevent the bushran eers crossing, and their capture is ex-; pected. |
