A second squad fired on Saturday afternoon i for the prizes offered by this Association in : the monthly competition. There was again : a strong and baffling wind, and good shooting w-as rendered almost impossible, the conse-; quence being that small scores prevailed. 0 AMARU CRICKET CLUB. The members of this Club opened their season with a scratch match between sides chosen by Messrs. ("I. ami J. A. Millington. The former's side was the first to handle the willow, the nine players putting together 00, of which number Booth contributed 3:3 ojul Surtoes 17. Only five of ■!. A. Millington's aide were out when the stumps were drawn, the score then standing at 58, Millington heading the list with 22, followed by Lowe with 9, and Dll Pr 6 with S. For J. A. Millington's side the bowlers were Lowe, Millington, and Rice, while on the other side O. Millington, Tempest, and Booth were the bowlers. DUNEDIN NORMAL SCHOOL v. THE OAMARU HIGH SCHOOL. On Saturday a match took place on the Old Cricket Ground between the above teams, under their respective captains Messrs. Knox and Hewat. The scores for the. Normal School were—lst innings, 32 ; 2nd innings, GO. Those for the Grammar School were—lst innings, 25 ; 2nd innings, 20. The Normal School boys were accordingly the victors by 37 runs,
