NORTH OTAGO AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

A special meeting of the Committee of the North Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held to-day. There were present—Messrs. Morton (in the chair), Kerr, AikenluT,d, Todd, Dunlop, Duncan, Cornell, and Church (Secretary). Tiiu minutes of the l:st meeting were read and continued, and the outward correspondence was read and approved. Some discussion took place with reference to the offer made by the Association to the Hon. M. Holmes for the purchase of the paddock at Deborah, during which it was stated that the present lease of the land had several years to run, and that the lessee would probably require some compensation. This it was urged should be paid by the Hon. M. Holmes, and not by the Association. It wag eventually decided to postpone consideration of the matter until the next meeting, owing to to the smallness of the attendance of members. iSev-,"al letters wore from various societies concurring in the proposal to hold a conference of delegates with reference to the formation of a National Association, but pointing out that the date fixed by the Oamaru Association was hiconvenient. It was suggested that the conference should be held at the time of the Oamaru show. It was decided that the date should be altered to the day after the show, namely, the 23rd November. The Advertising Committee was empowered to open and accept tenders, for the printing and advertising in connection with the forthcoming show. The meeting then adjourned for a week.
