CHRTSTCHURCH. August 5. The following South Canterbury players have been selected to practice for the football match Canterbury v. Otago : Hamersley, Hamerton, Verity, Godwin, and the three brothers Potts. The Government Surveyors are making a survey of the branch line from Lyttelton to Christchurch for a railway to Sumner, the principal seaside resort of North Canterbury. I AUCKLAND. AuKiist r>.
