THE MISSING MAN YOUNG.
Some further information has reached ' us with reference to tl)c mysterious dis- , appearance of Mr. Duncan Young, the night-watchman on the Breakwater. It appears that about half-past 12 o'clock on Thursday night the Captains of the Vixen and the Crest of the Wave went on the Breakwater and saw Young, who they say was perfectly sober. He offered them some coffee, and afterwards volunteered to get a boat to put them on board their vessels. He left them for the purpose of doing so ; but they did not see him afterwards, and after waiting some time the boat of the Crest of the Wave conveyed them on board. From what we can gather, it seems that to fulfil his promise Young would have had tq get an board the Crest of the Wave, which was lying alongside the Breakwater—a by no means .easy task in daylight, owing to the absence of a gangway—and would then have had to pull up the dingy and get into it. The general impression is that, in attempting one or other of the tasks mentioned, poor Young fell into the water, and being dreaaed in heavy clothing never rose. This supposition: si'»!ii3 very feasible, seeing fhar, from that time nothing was ever seen or heard of him. The harbor was dragged from K o'clock yesterday morning until 3 o'clock in the afternoon, but without avail.
