THE MAORIS SEIZE A LIGHTHOUSE.
Bluff, July 27. The StiJa arrived last night frojn Centre Island, where it was found that a number ; 'tif' natives' from Riverton were residing. They had taken- possession of the lighthouse,. They state that the islariii" bel6rigs" to" thS MaoiS# ai" & -cemetery /"ind that the Government had iio authority to erect a lighthouse there.
