ACCIDENT TO MR. JAMES GARDINER.
We asa »orry to have to announce that .an . accident happened to Mr. Janet Gardiner on Saturday evening last. He had been attending to his duties as Secretary of the Maerewhenua Ploughing Match, at a meeting of the Match Committee. At the conclusion of the meeting lio was indulging in some sport with a number of those present, when lie slipped and fell on to the floor, in doing wliieh he ir .ctured one of his legs. Dr. De L i l;tour was immediately sent for, arrived'at Duntroon on Sunday, and set t.he injured leg. Mr. Gardiner is doing well. It is a pity, for more reasons than one, that Mr. Gardiner should be confined to his house just now. The absence of his energetic management will be felt in connection with the forthcoming match.
