SUDDEN DEATH

A man named Joseph Mullen, employed in connection with the Gasworks, died very suddenly a, few minutes after 1 o'plqclc to'rday. HJe was, with others, employed laying the gas on to Mr. Swanson's house in Eden-street, and had just resumed work after dinner, when, as he was stooping down performing something in connection with his calling, he fell down, and was afterwards found dead by some other men employed with him. The cause of death is supposed to be heart disease, though we have heen unable to ascertain whether or not. he was known to sniffer front thfit dire affliction. Mullen, who was married, and had a family of five children, was a sober, industriouß'man; 1 Information of the affair having been given to the police, the body was removed to the Commercial Hotel, where a Coroner's inquest will be held at 2 o'clock to-rnorrow afternoon.
