IMPROVERS
Engaged In Hack Events , • MANY RUNNERS * ."THIS hacks get two races at Feilding on Saturday? one over a mile and a distance and the other a six-furlong affair. There will be no shortage of runners m either event. Over a bit of ground, and with twenty-two acceptors, % there is a big possibility of there being a tangle as they tear into it for positions going out of the straight. There are several recent Avinners engaged, and under this heading can be mentioned Cluny, Auctioneer, Miss Hastings, Spearform, Easterly, Nightmare and Charmaline. On her success at Levin it is reasonable to expect Nightmare to .1 go on doing things, and she should not find the extra ground a nuisance. * Miss Hastings was lucky to beat First Raid at Riccarton, but she did so, and it is worthy of jotting down. Possibly she will have a say m the finish with Nightmare. . Taking them by and large, they are just ordinary class m the Fitzroy Handicap, and there is just a chance of a turn up. If Callapat ran up to that gallop the last day at Trentham he would take no end of heading. That was a fine effort. Royal Routine won at Waverley m a field of donkeys, and he may now be right to live up to last season's expectations. Fitzquex is just good enough to get beaten, while the course may not favor Projection, which wants plenty of room. Arrowhead must be considered, after his Levin success, where he ran out a mile and a furlong. Now it is six. However, it really points to- Callapat and Arrowhead.
