Now In Mind For The Easter Mile
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) Any English-bred horse which happens to strike winning form m this country will get m the boom. TT is. that way with Lorient 11. after A his Te Aroha victory, though m reality the son of Lomond came forcibly into the public eye last winier by the speed displayed to reach second place over six furlongs at the Te Kuiti fixture held at Ellerslie. A trip to followed. Then back to 'New Zealand for a third at the last Takapuna fixture.' That third woke punters up to the fact that Lorient 11. was due any old time, while a track effort prior to Te Aroha was sound enough m quality to make him favorite for his only engagement. He was never too far away from the leaders and won well enough to be talked about so loudly that punters up north are beginning to associate his name with the probable result of the Easter Mile. There is not a great, deal of the English-bred horse, but under reasonable imposts he certainly threatens to be well suited m the handicap class knocking about up north at the present time.
