BIT DIFFERENT
But He Scored All The Same
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Christchurch Rep.) It is a long cry from Waikouaiti class to Riccarton company and few bridge the gap. LJOWEVER, it was well within the * * compass of Arrowmir, which upset the pot m the Craven Plate at Riccarton. Crown Area was scratched, and m his absence Meadow Lark commanded the betting. Coveney drew the outside, and when a furlong was covered he ran Arrowmir past Meadow Lark and First Raid into the lead and was never headed. Meadow Lark stayed on better than the rest m his first start m open company over seven furlongs, and m his present form he will take a power of stopping m the best sprint company. Silver Coot was m the mood, and, though usually, stopping at the end of six furlongs, he came from the back into third money. First Raid just failed to see it out, and Paperchase and Gold Brick had had enough at the end of six.
