LOOK EASY
The Fields At Hutt Park (By "The Toff.") Wellington on Saturday, is the big idea with trotting enthusiasts. THE fields are satisfactory, and winners will be easy to find. For the Probationers' Handicap; Slogan will be' practised. He ran a solid race into second place at Timaru, his time m that event being- 3.34 2/5. On Saturday he will begin from the limit of a 3.40 class, so if he repeats his Timaru effort (and he looks the kind that "will) he should win. Nelson Boy is a quick beginner that may go well in 1 , the Kaitoke Handicap, but over the last furlong Duke Bingen and Tiger Salve may outstay him. At Timaru on Saturday, Apex finished third m a two-mile bout m 4.42, which suggests that he will be pretty powerful off the front of a 3.32 class at Wellington. He is a good beginner, and is a genuine racehorse. So what more do you want? ' 1 Looking down the list is Hlnkler, which is going to Melbourne next month to win the Melbourne Derby. If he is that good, then he will be the hardest Apex has to beat. Then according to Waikato form Trustworthy is a world beater. At Claudelands she bolted before the race, and when caught and taken to the. barrier she was that fidgety that she lost a week at the start. Even with all that m, she looked a winner half-way down the straight, so on Saturday it will be a merry go between Apex, Hinkler and Trustworthy.
