FAST FINISH

Ohinemuri's Fine Effort LOOKEDMORAL (From "N.Z. Truth's", Auckland Rep.) It was with a fine finishing run that the favorite f Ohihemuri, got up to dead-heat with Modest Boy m the Hauraki Plains Handicap at Thames. MODEST BQY, favored with a beau- "*■ tif ul run, appeared a certainty when he was clear half way down the short straight. But whereas he was stopping, Ohinemuri was going very fast and m another stride she must have won outright. No fault could be found with the riding of A. Dick, who claimed a 51b. apprentice allowance. Still, with a stronger horseman aboard, Ohinemuri would have taken the honors. Ohinemuri is just reaching the top of her form again. All her best deeds of the past have been registered when the sting has been out of the turf.
