Two Outsiders Win At Thames (From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Rep.) Novice events at northern meetings are frequently tricky affairs owing to the size of the fields and the previous lack of form of many of the runners. . v ■' DUNTERS fell again over this class at Thames. Two outsiders m Flying Tresses and Valuation scored m the divisions of the Tapu Handicap, and both returned double figures, Valuation bowling over the favorite, Good Boy, m decisive fashion m his heat. The connections of Flying Tresses gave her a chance, as she had previously shown pace and it was a weak lot she was meeting. Still, she has been racing for over two seasons and had registered a number of failures, with the result. that they" did not have much confidence. 'In the case of Valuation it was an instance of a smart galloper surprising his party and scoring before he was considered seasoned enough. Valuation is a three-year-old by Valkyrian and a member of A. Tinker's team. -' . ■
