LIER great chance came m the Dargaville Cup, and with 7.4 aboard she really made the opposition look cheap when it came to racing over the final furlong of a mil© and a-quarter. On that showing it was not surprising to find her installed first favorite m the open mile two days later with; 8.2; though she did fail to get, into the money. ; However, because of that defeat it must not be contended that she is only moderate or unreliable. As a matter of fact she is not too robust and was probably not ready. to run two solid races within two days. But Royal Doulton should come again for sure, for she can run halfmiles quite as fast as the majority of the best sprinters and it is on record so far that' the daug-hter of Romeo— Tecoma has twice won over ten furlongs. Her main trouble seems to be that she take's some little time to get into her stride from a standing start and bustling methods in' the early part of her races will always tell against her prospects.
