BRILLIANT FIVE

Aussie Just As Good

As Ever

(From "N.Z. Truth's" Auckland Bep.)

Aussie startled the Ellerslie touts on Thursday of last week by rushing over five furlongs from the new post somewhere m the vicinity of 1.1.

LIB gave Awarere a few lengths* start *■* and beat htm home, thereby indicating that he is just as good as ever arid likely to gather m some of the classics later on up to a mile. *

He was a starter m the Shorts at Ellerslie last Saturday, but had a big load to carry.

It was evidently this fact whioh had something to do with Tinker appearing to slacken up on him a little towards the close, when defeat of the lightly-weighted Oration looked impossible. ;

However, Tinker had to stand the brunt of an inquiry over the incidents m the running. .

It can be taken for granted that Aussie is still the brilliant Aussie of old. . .
