HE IMPROVED
Craigmore Wins Two On End Craigmore came to Riccarton with a reputation and left for home. with it greatly enhanced. FIRST seen out at the Hunt meeting, * he did not impress a bit, and most were prepared to wipe him off the list. However, the first day of the National he ran secohd to Nucleus. He went one better the middle day, easily accounting for the Spreydon Hurdles, and turning the tables on Nucleus. The last day Hazlett's gelding took on the open company and he made a complete job of them. He bolted to the front, and, though he took a risk at a couple of fences, the rest were left far astern. Nothing much to look at, Craigmore apparently does his best when he is hungry and mean-looking. Each race saw him get worse m looks, yet he went better as he faded away. Next winter he may do anything— judging on last week's displays.
