Farmers' Friend
IN New Zealand, we have with us, at the moment, Sir John Russell, the great English authority on agriculture. It is a great, pity that Sir John cannot stay herb permanently, as even his brief visit has been decidedly useful. His lectures are treats — for Sir Johri understands his subject and knows how to make it interesting. With simple, well-chosen words, he drives 7 home his meaning — and you can depend upon it that everything he tells you about how to make your land grow things is "the goods." ' Unlike most savants, Sir John has the art of attracting and keeping attention when he is talking. Incidentally, he is a friendly mortal— or, 'as we Colonials would say, "a sport." ■ , •
