Victory At Addington Gives Him Glory To Retire On

(By "The Toff.") 1 s : * THE finish of the August Handicap provided one of the thrills of the day's racing at Addington on Saturday last.

AFTER taking the lead at the 12-fur-longs station, Peterwah showed the pacers the way into the straight, but entering upon the last furlong, Daphne de Oro drew up to him and after a hard finish, Peterwah outstayed Daphne de Oro to beat her by a neck. In sOjdoing, Peterwah established a fresh record over two miles for trotters, his time being 4.23 4-5, which is 3 4-ssecs. faster than done by the previous holder, Escapade. Peterwah is a six-year-rold toorse bred m America where he was purchased by his owner, R. C. Fisken, who drove him. He is a wonderful trotter and , after this season he is to be retired permanently to the stud. Roioole and Gold Jacket broke at the •start, and • Waitakl Girl lost ground.
