Whispers From Wanganui
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Wanganui Rep.) THE Night Raid filly m Bill Dwyer's * stable will beat more than will beat her m her early engagements. She is w^H fdrward, a sweet movdr, and can gallop very fast. She is owned by J. H. Todd. ## # . Kiosk will be ready to give a taste of his quality at Wanganui. He is m great heart, and it will take a good one to beat him m the New Zealand Eclipse Stakes. # * • The Hawk 1b to be a runner m the weight-for-age event at WanganUi all going well. # • # Among other likely starters are Episode, Laughing Prince, Bright Glow, Reremoana, Civility (if Bhe trains on), and Mask. Probably two or three others will go to the post, but there is enough material m the lot mentioned to provide a splendid race. # * # F. Lind is going to have his work cut out to keep Civility going, though he is hopeful the trouble m the shoulder is muscular rheumatism. Whatever it is it does not affect her when galloping* # # # ' Lind is having Calithe schooled over the hurdles, iahd the way he shapes suggests that he will make good at the. game. He goes at the jumps boldly and loses no time at them. # * ♦ H. Telford's team are coming along nloely, and the Paper Money filly especially should be ready to race well at Wanganui. # # '• Mask promises to be speedier than ever over short courses this season. If he starts m the Eclipse Stakes he will keep the best of the others busy. ; ■ # # ••. ■■ j A Tea Tray youngster and the Potoa —Polly Perkins gelding In Bagby's team' are giving evidence of possessing pace. The latter, In particular, shapes well. . . . ■'# # # Lady's Boy has been trained m Wanganui singe the winter meeting there. C. Carmont has the gelding m good shape, and he might pick up a stake at Marton. • ##* - | Track watchers at the river city are looking to Limosa to win a good race or two early m the season, #. * # A few smart gallops over a couple of furlongs have brought Ceremony and Alloy along well. The brother to Lysander is going to prove a topnotcher when properly tuned up. He gives as much promise as Lysander did at the same age, and there is little doubt he will be brilliant off the mark. # * • Alloy (Thespian —Bronze) is not so forward as Ceremony, but he is improving with each gallop, and Rayner looks to him to prove himself later on. # # # Commendation's half - brother will probably not be asked a serious question until the Auckland summer meeting by which time Pedestal will most likely be ready to make a name for hlmselfs
