NEW ZEALANDERS ' DAY OUT
(By Cable. — From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Sydney Representative.) MEW ZEALAND had a field day at Canterbury Park on Saturday, 11 when two Maorilanders dead-heated for first m the Flying and Perception won a division of the three-year-old event. First Acre and Prince Humphrey were the dead- heaters m the Flying, but the verdict was hooted. The assumption, apparently, was that Prince Humphrey's fast finish on the inside over the last bit gave him the victory. J. Barry, who was later successful on Perception, rode Prince Humphrey, whilst T. Webster was on First Acre. Webster narrowly escaped trouble. At the bend he looked round; — and First Acre left the rails. Prince Humphrey shot through; otherwise, it would have been a hopeless case. Webster was severely censured by the stewards. Perception had an easy win. Always handy to the leaders, he ran away half-way down the straight. Gay Crest had an outing m the same race, but never showed up, finishing a long way back. Eden Hall won his first race on this side m the Canterbury Handicap, but just got there by half a head, being lucky to beat Fondant, whose boy took things too easily and was caught napping. Limerick hae now settled down m his new quarters and is quite oontented. He looks particularly well and is ready to show his best form In his first outing.
