Dunedin Finishes On Saturday

(Prom "N.Z. Truth's" Dunedin Rep.) The most important, featherweight contest of the year will be staged m Dunedin on Saturday night, when Johnnie Leckie will swap compliments with Tommy Barber. THE little men have held Bway In the x south this year and the Otago Association has promoted a fine bill' of professional contests and these have worked the crowd to fever heat for Saturday night's scrap. Leokie has yet to collect a loser's end, and when he got the hoist . over Norman Glllesple he virtually I won the feather-weight crown of Australia and New Zealand. Since returning to home Gillespie has entered light-weight ranks and the crown automatically reverts to Barber. Leckie has to (beat Barber to establish his superiority over the best ninestone boys of both countries. In his fight with Griffiths, Barber showed the fans that he ,has the goods and can dish them up m a hurry. He is the most free hitter at infighting that has ibeen seen m Dunedin this season. Both are speedy lads, and condition and stamina will be a -big factor. Whatever the result, Dunedinites are lucky m having such a climax to their fistic programme for 1928.
