Magic Fingers.
SHOULD you be passing a house m Smith Street, Dunedin, the dainty
measures of an old-world minuet or the crashing glory of some martial selection may come to you. There is no need tp look at the brass plate on the gate. Though you have not seen, you have met Albert Vallis. Organist and choirmaster of St. Josephs', and a pianoforte teacher of extraordinary ability, to boot, Vallis has more music tucked away m his little finger than the player of even more than average ability has m his two hands.
Dunedin has reserved Vallis' magic ability as its own particular property for many years! In fact, Dunedin's musical circle — and it is a large one — counts on Vallis more than he will acknowledge. Success weighs lightly on A.V. Give him a few crotchets, quavers and clefs to juggle with — and he knows a great content.
