President James
ASK any member of the Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Association m Dunedin to name a jolly good fellow. Quick as a flash, he'll reply: "Our president, James T. Gillan — and don't you forget it!" Jim is the first traveller to. hold the position of president of the C.T. and W.A. ; but the honors that go with it do not weigh too heavily on his shouldera. For 25 years he has been on the road, his sample-cases firmly gripped m both hands. To-day the light is as bright m his eyes as it was a quarter of a century ago. Gillan graduated from that great University known as Experience. As a consequence, he is a fund of information and an ever-present help to j'oung travellers. It is typical of Jim that he is ever ready and willing to give a little real, worth-while advice to those young 'uns who suddenly find out that their work consists of more than sitting m first-class "smokers." Timaru to the Bluff is Jim's happy hunting-ground. Armed with his order book and that Gillan smile, he spends' his days making profits for his firm.
