"DOCTORING"
Could It Have Been Possible?
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.) There was an impression m some circles up north recently that a horse which went close to grabbing the right money may have been "doctored" for the occasion. TT was only an impression formed by some suspicious individuals who] marvelled at the heavy cash which went to support a candidate of practically unknown galloping ability. Nevertheless, some hard heads who have seen racing across the seas vowed that under some stipendiary supervision m Australia there was the chance that a full inspection might have been ordered owing to the general appearance of the horse as it left the birdcage. But some racegoers are always suspicious, especially when good cash comes for something which has no real credentials m the shape of attractive public form.
