SAME DOUBLE

Secured Two Years

In Succession

(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland

Rep.)

Many horses could be named which have won the same event m different years.

TT seldom occurs, however, that the same two horses are capable of taking a "double" m successive years. Yet such has to be recorded m the case of Mosaic and Nancy Lee over the Thames Goldfields Cup and Flying. What is more remarkable is that they were won on different tracks and against different competitors. The double winners (a stable double each pop) were trained by different mentors each year. When Mosaic and Nancy Lee won m 1926 it was on the Thames course. Last Saturday it was at Ellerslie. Punters cleaned up all the doubles offering over the latest "winning way." Some are already awaiting the production of the pair at the next Thames fixture.
