UNKNOWN LOT

Two- Year-Olds To Watch

The Taita Handicap at Trentham always serves to introduce to the public a big bunch of unknown two-year-olds. THIS year is no exception, and the "*• field, with two or three exceptions, is made. up of horses- new to race days. This being so, the public will be wise to go canny when trying for the winner. Two that have shown some form are Second Wind and Silver Rule, the latter having a win to her credit in a maiden race at Otaki. She has any amount of pace, but there seems to be just something lacking in her. Second Wind, one of Fred Davis' team, will be improving with each race. Full Feather, from the same stable as Childsplay, is reputed to be the goods. He is. a half-brother to Centrepiece. Royal Duke and Tea Doll have had a race, and they also have shown pace on the track. Most of the others are well bred and their respective owners have high hopes about them, but till they show something in public it will be good business to let well alone. The handicapper is generally a good judge and it may turn out right to follow him. His top three are: SILVER RULE SECOND WIND and FULL FEATHER
