SMILIN' SINCLAIR
GORDON SINCLAIR, M.P.S., chemist and good fellow, of Otautau, Southland, has only one fault to find with the district. This is that the good people there are so disgustingly healthy! Cough-drops simply won't move off his shelves. As for toothache cures I and remedies for creaky joints — they're ! simply ornaments in Sinclair's shop. Yet, withal, Gordon stays on; and despite the body-building air of Southland he has a good little business and a neat little banking account. Sinclair's success lies in the fact that he throws himself, heart and soul, into helping his fellow citizens make their charming little town a wonderful place to live in. No public movement is quite complete without the assistance and advice of this quiet, efficient young man. Not for him is the fireside's glow after a hard day's work. If there isn't a meeting of the Progressive League — he is an executive of this august body — there is a meeting of some other, club or association. - Gordon Sinclair must find that popularity is somewhat . tiring. So far, however, he is managing to bear up very well.
