THE NORTHLAND TUNNEL
FINALITY NEARLY REACHED STRUCTURE TO BE STRENGTHENED. Finality has been yearly reached at last in connection with the Northland tunnel bungle, and at last night’s mooting of the City Council it was agreed to strengthen the structure in accordance with the recommendation of the power station and tramways committee, which suggested that tenders be called for the supply and delivery of the necessary steel for carrying out this project in accordance with specifications to be prepared by the city engineer.
