PARAMOUNT THEATRE

"THE WILDERNESS WOMAN.” Aileen Pringle, Lowell Sherman and Chester Conklin carry off all the acting honours in "The Wilderness Wo'man,” the new Robert ICane picture for First National, which heads the current programme at the Paramount Theatre. The picture offers Miss Pringle her first opportunity to break away from the queen and vampire type of role • with which she has been associated in I the past, and to reveal a hitherto covI eted talent for comedy. As the Alas- | kan miner’s daughter, uncouth and j unversed in the way of the world, or ! even of modern society, who comes into | violent contact with the conventions I in New York City, she presents a figure at once amusing and appealI ing. , The supports include a gazette, scenic, and comedy, with an appealing selection of music. "THE TOMORROW Carrie Daumery, who is seen in an important character part in “The Greater Glory,” June Mathis’ screen epic for First National release opening to-morrow, is the sister-in-law of Eugen Ysaye, the world renowned i violinist. Mme. Daumery is the widow of Theophile Ysaye, brother of the famous concert master. Her husband died shortly after the war. She has appeared in several pictures since his death. Although she was one of Ysaye’s prize pupils and was destined for a career on the concert stage, Mine. Daumery entered the stage instead. For many years she headed a company, with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Mine. Daumery’s son, John, is a motion picture research expert. He is connected with a Los Angeles film concern. "The Greater Glory” has just been completed by June Mathis, tl is a story of Vienna before, during and after the war. More than a year was spent on the production. The principals in the cast include Anna Q. Nilsson, Conway Tearle, May Allison, lan Keith, Lucy Beaumont and Jean liersholt.
