FREEZING WORKS OPEN

PLENTY OF LABOUR FEW UNIONISTS ENGAGED. * Per Press Association. GISBORNE, November 22. The Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Freezing works at Haiti opened this morning with sixteen men, including six members of the union, on the board. No other union labour was available, and eleven volunteers wore taken on. There is plenty of labour available to carry on tlio remainder of the works. Nelson Brothers’ works at Waipawa also opened with volunteer labour. NO RESPONSE AT WAINGAWA Per Press Association. MASTERTON, November 22. There was no response at the Waingawa freezing works this morning to a call for labour. Work wilt commence on "Wednesday with volunteer slaughtermen, of which there are plenty offering.
