ROBBED WHILE ASLEEP
BURGLAR CREEPS INTO ROOM LARGE SUM QF MONEY STOLEN. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, November 18. While the otcupants of the room slept a burglar crept into the bedroom of a house in Selwyn street, went through the pockets of a coat hanging on the door, then crept round the bed, and took from under it a handbag containing about £l5O. "As quietly he crept out again, unlocked the back door to let himself out. and vanished. The householder is a dance promoter, and he had in the bag the takings from a dance and euchre party held that night, and the previous week, and in addition the money from the till of his mercery shop. It had been his practice to keep a dog in the house, and this was the first time there had been a considerable sum of money and no dog.
