Wallace, has been compelled to resign because he, nine months previous to his election and when in business, had an account with the council paid after his election. Robert Ernest Shipp wasgranted a dissolution of his Marriage with Annie Elizabeth Shipp on the grounds of alleged adultery with Richard Kemp, and £350 damages against the co-respondent. At the Amateur Athletic Club’s .Labour Day sports at Gisborne, Miss N. Eastwood, Poverty Bay champion, ran 150 yards in 17 3-ssec. which is claimed as the fastest time for the distance by a lady runner in New Zealand.
