At tho S.M. Court at Otdki a man named Henry Thomas Simkms, alias Thos. Davis Murtagh, appeared , before iho court, charged with the theft ot a pair of pants, value 80s, a pair of boots Value 40s, spurs value 4s, and a bag value SOs. Accused pleaded guilty, and elected summary treatment. Constable Satherley said accused had tried several times to sell the bag and articles. He was an old offender. Accused was sentenced to sis months’ imprisonment in Wellington gaol, with hard labour. J. Aplin was charged, on tho information of R. C. Dick, ranger for the Hutl County Council, with allowing cattle to trespass on tho Valley road. Varaparaumu. There was no appearance ot defendant, who, tho ranger said, was an old offender, having been fined on several occasions for like offences. The S.M. inflicted a fine of JC3 and costs 12s. S. Q. Batten, charged with, a • like offence, was fined ss, with costa 12s. E. Hopkins (Hr Atmoro) v. J. Sykes, claim J 823. Judgment for plaintiff by default, with costs 18s. A. E. Anderson (Mr Staveley) v. Htiku Ilapeta, claim .£ls 18s 6d. Mr Staveley urged that judgment debtor had houses and property, and wn.s managing a farm near Porirnn. He should be able to pay tho account. Ordered to pay tho amount within fourteen days, in default fourteen days’ imerigAurnciLt. I
