FROM CHRISTCHURCH TO AUCKLAND ON BOOT-MONEY.

AUCKLAND, May 14.
A boy, aged about 12 years, is at present/at the Salvation Army Home while, the police are endeavouring i<; locate his parents. As far as can bo gathered, the lad comes from Christchurch. He was given money by his mother to purchase some boots, but, desiring to sec more of New lira lend, ho boarded the ferry boat at l.ytiolton inalead and travelled to Wellington ■Here he foil in with two soldiers, who, on being told that he wished to see some relatives in Auckland, paid his railway faro. They kept a friendly eye on the lad after arrival, and, ns far as they can gather, he has no relatives hero. He was, therefore, handed over to the police for safe keeping pending further information..
