NEW ROAD TO HATAITAI
A SCHEME OUTLINED.
A possible new road to Hataitai was mentioned by tbo Mayor of the city yesterday. -Ho’ said that Adelaida road was already severely taxed, and soon would ho unable to carry all tho traffic which passed through Wellington South. There had been an idea for runjning a road across tho hill to Hataitai by extending the road which now goes past Government House, but the Government had prevented tho council from going on with this idea, so now it was suggested that some dwellings just to tho westward of that road should he cleared away and a road run through close by the Government House property.
