THE LANDRU GRIMES
DISAPPEARANCE OF THREE FIANCEES. Australian and N.Z. Cable - Association. (Received May 9, 9.5 p.m.) PARIS, May 8. Persons residing at Gambais, close to Landru’s villa, declare that on the three uates corresponding with the disappearance of three fiancees, they saw smoko issuing from the villa chimney. A French doctor identified Landru as the man ho saw bearing a large bundle on his shoulder in moonlight, which he threw into the lake. The police are searching the lake.
