The Southland Chamber of Commerce has decided to inform the Minister for Public Health that in view of the possibility of a recrudescence of the epidemic tlio chamber views with alarm the holding of peace celebrations before the danger has passed. ANOTHER DEATH FROM MANUKA A second death among members of the crew of the Manuka occurred on Thursday night, when John Sullivan, aged 38 years, a single man, who signcd on as fireman at Sydney, died at tho quarantine station on Somes Island from the effects of influenza. Tho funeral took place at 3 p.m. yesterday. Tho remains of the deceased were borne by his late shipmates from tho mortuary to the cemetery on tho island. The Rev. Father Duignan, who took up his residence on Somes Island on Thursday, officiated at the graveside. Two other members of the Manuka’s crew were in a serious condition yesterday. A brother of Sullivan, who joined tho ship at Sydney is on board the vessel. No further cases of influenza have occurred on tho steamer Komata. The vessel, after being thoroughly fumigated was taken out to the stream yesterday preparatory to sailing to-day for W'ostport. Tho passengers will embark on the Nhtone at the' tug wharf at noon tn he conveyed to the Komata in the stream. ,
