The oats market has gone back a little, both m rat 68 > which forward sales can be expected, and in prices that would be offered to farmers at country stations. Farmers are, however, holding firmly, and it is doubtful if many would sell under 4s at country stations at present. With winter to face, with an unusually large number of stock to carry, and much of it in a very low condition, oats will be required to play a most important part in feeding, as there is but a limited turnip crop. The nominal value of . A grade Gartens is now 3s ,8d to 3s 9d, and B grade 3s 6d to 8s 7d at country stations, with no business doing with growers. Oat' sheaf chaff has firihed in sympathy with oats, an inquiry having set in from the North Island, and is now quoted at 6s to 6s 5d at country stations. Continued fine weather is tending to keep the chaff market easier than it otherwise would he. There is practically nothing doing in grass seeds. Low grass Is a shade easier, and the host price is now reported to he la. There is a fair demand for peas, and a number of sales lately have been made by growers at 6s for partridge, 6s to 5s Od for White Ivories, and to 6s for Blue Prussians at country stations. , Fine weather has enabled potatogrowers to push on the work of digging. Deliveries have been largo, and considerable quantities have been shipped to the North Island at present, therefore the market is a little easier, and £5 10s at country stations is the top price. Onions are firmer, and are now quoted at £6 6s at stations. There has been quite a spurt in tho linseed market, and sales have been made up to £l7 per ton.
