RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS. Press Association. v WANGANUI, February 20. There was again glorious weather for the Fire Brigades’ demonstration to-day, when there was a large attendance of the public. Results are: Disabled Hose Event (five men).—■ Hillside Railway, Imin 12 2-Ssec, 1; Invercargill, Imin 14-jsec, 2; Dunedin City, Imin 15sec, 3; Hastings, Imin 15 3-ssec, 4; Alexandra, Imin 17 1-5 sec, 5. • . Hose, Hydrant, and Union (live men). —Dunedin City, 43 l-ssec, 1; Timaru, 45sec, 2; Dannevirke, 46sec, 3; South Dunedin, 47sec, 4; Hillside Railway, 48s ec, 5. Rescue Event (two men). —J/unecun City (Duncan and Ross), 22sec, 1; Napier (Eddy and' Gilberd), 22 2-ssec, 2 ; Nelson, 23s©c, 3; Caversham, 23 3-5 sec, 4 ; Rotorua, 24sec, 5. Caversham and y Rotorua tied .with 23 4-ssec, and had to run off. ' Heel and Ladder (five men), Merryweather Shield. —Alexandra, 57sec, 1; Hokitika, 58 4-ssec, 3; Hillside Railway, 59 2-6 sec, 3; Hamilton, 61 2-ssec, 4; Dunedin City, 61 3-6seo, 5; Greymouth, 62sec, 6. In the consolation event Lyttelton, 31 4-ssec; Roslyh, 33 3-seec; Hastings, 33 4-ssec; Ashburton, 34 l-ssec; and Napier, 34 l-ssec, are leading. The leading teams for tho championship shields are: Timaru, 32 points; Dunedin, 32; Hillside Railway, 28; Dannevirke, 22; Alexander, 20. Only one more event, the Association ©vent for five men, counts for the championship. , . , The competitions will be finished on Saturday.
