Mrs Parry, a widow, is suing the Jlnsuianoo Commissioners for £IOO, alleging that negligence to provide sanaftorium treatment caused her husband’s ’death. Medical evidence showed that the deceased had a chance of recovery nnder suitable treatment. WIDOW AWARDED £l5O. (Received February 18, 11.20 p.m.) LONDON, February 18. The verdict in the case against the Insurance Commissioners was that the ,death was not due to negligence. Despite this, the jury awarded the j widow £l5O. Under the Insurance Act persons Insured have the right to be treated in sanatoria or otherwise if suffering from tuberculosis or such other diseases as the Local Government Board may think it desirable to treat. There is also power to extend this benefit to the dependents of insured persons.
