Press Association. TIMARU, February 14. At the Congregational Union Conference to-day, alter reading a paper and discussing it, the Rev. Hind moved a resolution approving the platform of the Bible-in-schools’ League, and expressing gratification at the favourable attitude of the other churches, assuring these of hearty co-operation; approving the referendum, and asking the Government to provide machinery for one. An amendment was moved by the Rev. J. R- Glasson to the effect that, while the union was prepared to consider a scheme for the introduction of Bible-teaohing, it would unreservedly condemn the introduction of sectarian teaching by right of entry or otherwise. The amendment was carried by 40 to 2, and then as a substantiate motion snanimonsly.
