SENIOR PENNANTS. The following Thorndon players have been selected to play in tho above on Saturday next, in tho match against Karori: At Karori —Stanford, Arden, D. Y. AVilson, Hogben (s); Staff, Ramsay, F. Johnson, Freeth (s). At Thorndon —Hull, Spencer, Conlin, Ross (s); I. Clark, Buckeridge, Hatch, J. McEidowney (s). In a friendly game on the Victoria green yesterday afternoon between teams representing the Victoria and Thorndon Clubs, tno former won by 74 to 40. Each team played three rinks, Victoria being successful ih each instance. Scores: —First rink —Tucker, Armit, Varcoe, Fossetto (SO); Silvester, Avery, Freeth, Dimock (15). Second rink—Kitto, Godber, Townsend, Suaddon (19); Arden, Stewart, Johnson, Grey (15). Third rink—Madelcy, G. Tattle, Martin, Hemingway (25); Midlane, Wilson, Hatch, Paratyi (16). In the report of the final of the sixty-five singles mention was made that the prize of a pair-of bowls was presented by Mr Roberts. That gentleman is desirous of making a slight correction, as he does not wish to receive credit which is duo another. The bowls were in the first case presented by Mactio and Co.,tho “White Horse Whisky” people of Glasgow. The matter of the disposal of same, however, was left entirely in the hands of Mr Roberts, and if ho thought so fit, he Was to retain the bowls for his own use. Mr Roberts, however, declined to denote them as a prize for competition among the veteran members of the Wellington, Thorndon, Newtown and Victoria clubs, and this has been done.
