RUNAWAY PRISONER SHOT
Frees Association. ROTORI/A, February 11. Ott Monday morning two prisoners, Charles Victor Raymond Stannaway and Walter James Ross, escaped from the tree plantation camp at Kaingarqa Plains, being recaptured by Maoris lost night. ' On being challenged both ran away, and one of the Maoris fired a rifle, .the .bullet lodging in Ross’s buttock.
